The hub for PeptideDecoded's research entries. Each card leads to a full deep-dive with mechanism, human-vs-animal evidence split, regulatory status, and honest verdict. Use this page as the table of contents to the rest of the site. For a one-glance snapshot, see the comparison table.
Every peptide covered on this page, ranked by primary use case, human evidence tier, FDA status, WADA status, and the risk profile behind the marketing. The same rows appear in our larger full comparison reference alongside GLP-1 agonists and growth-hormone secretagogues.
| Peptide | Primary use cases | Human evidence | FDA status | WADA status | Risk profile |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BPC-157 | Tissue repair, gut healing, vascular | None — zero RCTs as of 2026 | Not approved; excluded from 503A compounding | Prohibited (S0) | Unknown long-term; no human safety data |
| TB-500 (Thymosin β-4) | Wound healing, cardioprotection, cell migration | None | Orphan drug (corneal); otherwise not approved | Prohibited (S0) | Limited human safety; prohibited in sport |
| GHK-Cu | Skin rejuvenation, collagen, wound healing (topical) | Moderate topical; none injectable | Cosmetic / GRAS topical; injectable unproven | Not listed | Topical well-tolerated; injectable speculative |
| Ipamorelin | Growth hormone secretion, body composition (claimed), anti-aging | Limited — GH release documented; no efficacy RCTs | Not approved | Prohibited (S2) | Off-label; dosing unvalidated |
| Sermorelin | Adult GH stimulation, off-label anti-aging (claimed) | Limited — GH pulse documented; no efficacy RCTs | Withdrawn 2008 (commercial); no current adult indication | Prohibited (S2) | Off-label; pediatric diagnostic only; dosing unvalidated |
| CJC-1295 | Adult GH stimulation, weekly anti-aging (claimed) | Limited — no human RCTs; mechanism class shared with Sermorelin only | Never approved; no compounding monograph | Prohibited (S2) | Off-label; dosing unvalidated; combination-blend exposure |

One card per peptide deep-dive currently on PeptideDecoded. Each card lands on a single-page summary with mechanism, the human / animal evidence split, FDA and WADA status, vendor landscape, and an honest verdict.
BPC-157 has no published human RCTs as of July 2026. The entire clinical interest is extrapolated from rodent studies, dominated by a single research group (Sikiric lab, Zagreb). Buyer-facing claims about tendon, GI, and systemic healing are animal-science marketing, not human evidence.
| Evidence (human) | None — 0 published RCTs |
| FDA | Not approved; excluded from 503A compounding |
| WADA | Prohibited (S0) |
TB-500 has no published human RCTs. As of June 2026, no controlled clinical trial has demonstrated efficacy or safety in humans for any musculoskeletal or systemic application of Thymosin Beta-4 — the entire online interest is extrapolated from animal data.
| Evidence (human) | None — FDA orphan status from preclinical only |
| FDA | Orphan drug (corneal / ophthalmic); otherwise not approved |
| WADA | Prohibited (S0) |
Topical use has a meaningful evidence base — the 2012 Lorentic RCT (n=71, double-blind) supports skin elasticity and collagen density. Injectable GHK-Cu has no published human RCT data as of 2026. Topical and injectable are frequently conflated online; they are not the same decision.
| Evidence (human) | Topical: moderate (Lorentic 2012); Injectable: none |
| FDA | Cosmetic / GRAS topical; injectable unproven |
| WADA | Not listed |
Phased GH release and cortisol / prolactin selectivity are documented (Raun 1998, PMID: 9783708). Human evidence for body composition, anti-aging, or recovery outcomes does not exist — the online appeal is built on mechanism and post-market reports, not on efficacy trials.
| Evidence (human) | Documented GH release; no efficacy RCTs |
| FDA | Not approved |
| WADA | Prohibited (S2) |
Sermorelin (GHRH 1–29 analog) has a narrow 1990s diagnostic-stimulation data trail (Reutens 1996, Walker 1994). It was never approved for adult anti-aging, body composition, or longevity; the Geref brand was withdrawn in 2008 for commercial reasons. The popular adult use cases have zero human efficacy RCTs. WADA S2 prohibited alongside the GHRP class.
| Evidence (human) | GH pulse documented; no efficacy RCTs |
| FDA | Withdrawn 2008; no current adult indication |
| WADA | Prohibited (S2) |
CJC-1295 has zero published human RCTs for body composition / anti-aging / sleep; the mechanism class is anchored to Sermorelin's Walker 1994 pharmacodynamic study (reused PMID 7527273); half-life ≠ efficacy. WADA S2 prohibited alongside Sermorelin, Ipamorelin, and the GHRP class.
| Evidence (human) | None — zero RCTs; mechanism class only (Walker 1994 reused) |
| FDA | Not approved — never FDA approved for any indication. No compounding monograph. |
| WADA | Prohibited (S2) |
Why this hub, in one paragraph. Every deep-dive on this page applies the same evidence-tier + COI-disclosure rules as the rest of PeptideDecoded: we cite primary sources, label human confidence honestly, and disclose when a single research group dominates a literature or when regulatory status changes the user-facing meaning of the word "approved." The same editorial standards apply to our editorial standards, and the same evidence-checking method applies to how to verify peptide claims independently. If a peptide is not here, it is because we have not yet written a deep-dive that meets the same standard.
This catalog is a research summary, not medical advice. PeptideDecoded does not sell peptides, recommend vendors, provide dosing protocols, or make claims about safety or efficacy for any specific individual.
Work with a qualified physician who can evaluate your full medical history, current medications, and individual risk factors before making any decision about peptides — whether FDA-approved, compounded, or sold as research chemicals.
